Staff

We are pleased to introduce our professional staff:

Stan Harrell  :  Owner and Qualifying Broker

Stan 2Stan moved from Texas to Angel Fire in 1972 (42 years ago!) to work on the ski mountain and at the resort lake, learning to love the Moreno Valley.  Enjoying his hobbies of skiing, fly fishing, photography and travel, Stan realized he would stay in Angel Fire and decided to build his career in real estate.  He joined the staff of Monte Verde Realty in 1979, became the qualifying broker in 1981 and the sole proprietor in 1987.

Stan is an alumni of Texas Tech University.

His commitment to the community includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce and the Angel Fire Resort Property Owners Association.  He has also served on the Colfax County Subdivision and Angel Fire Architectural Review committees.  He currently serves as President of the Angel Fire Community Foundation.

Testimonials:

“Stan is one of the two best ranch realtors I know.  He knows water rights.  He knows people.  He knows how to find out what he doesn’t know. He is a genuine pleasure to work with.  Beyond that, when Victor Westphall and I and other members of the David Westphall Veterans Foundation negotiated reacquisition of the Vietnam Memorial in Angel Fire from Disabled American Veterans, which was consummated on Veterans’ Day in 1998, we needed an appraisal of the grounds and chapel and museum.  Stan, who knows appraisal too, did it for us at no charge.  I’ll never forget that.”

Albert Simms, Attorney at Law, Taos New Mexico

“We’ve dealt with Stan Harrell for many years in numerous transactions.  There surely isn’t another realtor in the area with a greater depth of local knowledge, experience, and contacts than Stan.  The entire crew at Monte Verde operates in the friendliest fashion while still being consummate professionals. “

Ralph & Margaret Seis, Sequim Washington

“I worked with Stan on a couple of large transactions on behalf of a client and he was very responsive, professional, and honest.  He also has an excellent knowledge of market conditions and property values in the area and gives his unvarnished opinions, without overstating or understating.  He is diligent without being pushy.  In short, a pleasure to work with.”

David C. Mielke, Attorney at Law,  Albuquerque New Mexico

“Reliable:  reliable knowledge, reliable follow-through, reliable experience.  And, more importantly, reliable ethics.”

Bunny Jankowski, 18 years real estate experience in Angel Fire

“Stan has always been straight forward, honest and dependable.  He knows the market and you can rely on his opinion and statements.”

Ronald L. Schmeits, President & CEO;   International Bank, Raton NM

“When we came to Angel Fire to purchase a ranch, we were referred to Stan. Not quite sure where we wanted to build our home, Stan listened to our wants and needs, showed us a range of ranches, and in the end, found us the perfect site with mountain range vistas and clusters of forest groves with meandering paths – we love it. With Stan’s guidance our transaction closed in a timely and professional manner.”

Ed and Ana McCracken, Angel Fire

“Stan Harrell is an exceptional realtor who definitely stands behind his commitment to do the very best job he can to sell your property.  From personal experience, I would recommend Stan to anyone who is in the market to sell, or buy property.  He is intelligent, personable, laid back, and simply, a really “good guy”.  He is well informed with the current marketplace, and willing to go the extra mile for his clients.  You can be assured that he will be actively working “for you” whether you are the buyer, or the seller.”

Wyonne Balfe, Las Vegas Nevada

“I had the opportunity to deal with Stan for several years on multiple real estate transactions in the Angel Fire area. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, candid, and most of all,  he always honored his word. On at least one transaction which was co-brokered there where some miscellaneous expenses which should have been covered by both brokers, but rather than jeopardize the transaction, Stan elected to pay both his and the co-broker’s share which was above and beyond the call of duty. I feel that he is in a league by himself and I would highly recommend his services.”

Leldon Sweet, M.D., Beaumont Texas

Brinn Colenda  :  Associate Broker

brinn photoMy wife, Linda and I bought land in Angel Fire in 1984 while I was still on active duty in the Air Force. While in the USAF, I had to walk a narrow path– maintaining Texas residency and attending grad school at OU!  We moved here after I retired in 1995 to raise our small boys and to embrace the mountain life-style. New Mexico is an amazing place! I’ve been with Monte Verde Realty since 1998 and thrive on helping people explore and realize their own dreams.

Now that our boys have left to attend college, I have discovered other ways to spend my spare time. I serve as a Councilor on the Angel Fire Village Council. I have freed up my creative side and launched myself into the world of writing. I published my second thriller this spring.

Testimonials:

We purchased our cabin from Monte Verde and could not be more pleased.  Our Realtor, Clark, is one of the nicest, most positive and sincere person I’ve ever met.  He instantly became our friend.  We purchased remotely, and he had our back every step of the way.  He was on top of everything and made (what could have been a nightmare) the experience as stress-free as possible.  Finding this company online was very lucky for us, but having Clark as our Realtor and friend is the best choice we’ve made.  Great company, even better people.  I only wish I could give them 10 stars.
